Comprehensive Sex Education Seminar: MNCS will begin the Comprehensive Sex Education seminar this Thursday, February 21. A Permission to Participate Form is required for any student to attend the seminar. Please read this letter (Comprehensive Sex Education Information Letter and Permission to Participate – Return asap) and sign the form if you would like for your student to participate and return to Nichole. Grades 7 and 8 get priority, 9th graders may be eligible if there is room . 


Mouse Trap Car Competition – The mousetrap car race is still on, but it has undergone a reschedule (because of all the snow days).  Good luck to the participants, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask – See Mattias if you need anything.

  • Mousetrap Car Competition Schedule Updates:
    • On the 19th of February, a meeting/class will be held at 9AM in the art room. We will discuss materials’ effect on performance, how potential energy is stored, and formulas for calculating stored energy in a spring. Rules will be clarified and questions will be answered.
    • On Wednesdays (the 20th and 27th) of February, afternoon workshops will be held, allowing for a chance to get some hands-on experience before you delve into your own car.
    • Race Day will be held on the 13th of March.

London Trip – Students (Parents), you now have the option to pay online for your London Trip with Paul and Jenn (this is for those students already approved to go on the this trip, the end total may change depending on fundraising events). Click on the “Square” below, scroll down to “High School – Other Activities” then “High School London trip”.

If you have friends and family that would like to donate to the trip, they may also do this through “Square”. They would just need to scroll down further on this link to “High School – London Trip Donations” and click on the amount they would like to donate.


Prom will be held on April 13th  2019 at Edgewood barn in Henderson. Sign up is at Joanś desk, pay as you sign up $15 a person, tickets will be handed out the Monday before prom. Doors to the prom will be open at 6pm. Food from Chef Craig in Arlington will be served 6:30 pm to 8pm. Dress appropriate and formal. To bring a date from another school, you will need to fill out the permission slip, Joan will hand you once you pay, Everyone will have to fill this out anyways. The student must be in high school to join our prom. If you have anymore questions, our Prom team has the answers; Joan, Chrissy, Greg P., Morgan J, Laura B and Sydney J.

 Volunteers Needed-for High Island Lake Conservation Club Annual Fish Fry on 2/23/19.  Help is needed with waiting tables, hours are 9:30am – 2:00pm and 2:00pm – 7:00pm.  Every worker is offered a free dinner and refreshments all day!  Call Barb Schutte at 320-864-4702 if you’d like to help.

We will travel to a fabulous yarn shop in Mankato for a lesson and then to a local coffee shop to practice our new skill. Crafts and hobbies are fun and good for the mind – join us! Yarn and needles for use at the shop are included in the $10.00. Bring an extra $5.00 if you want to purchase your own set of knitting needles to keep. Only space for 6 students. The Kitchen Cupboard Cafe 18-19 (School Lunch)

Our School Lunch is catered in each day from Patty’s Kitchen Cupboard Cafe in Le Sueur.  Lunch Tickets are for purchase at Nancy’s desk, by check & cash, and online – click on the Square icon above. Students will be given physical tickets, and will manage their own lunch tickets once purchased.  Lunches are $3.50 each, make checks out to MNCS.  Students need to put their lunch ticket with their name on it into the “Lunch Tickets” box by 8:30am at Nancy’s desk each morning to order lunch.  See the KCC’s Menu below:

ACT Test – February 20th

Students will have the option to take the ACT during a school day at MNCS on Wednesday, February 20th. The test is available to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. The cost of the test is $45, and is due by the day of the test. If seating is limited, priority will be given to 11th and 12th graders. Henderson Area Food Share – Is a group of community members is sponsoring a produce distribution for area community members and even outside of the community. Located at Minnesota New Country High School. Distribution will take place every “THIRD” Thursday of the month, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
The income guidelines to qualify are as followed, but we do not intend further inquiries for financial statue, and will go based upon the honor system.
