MCA Testing  begins next week at the high school. 7th graders will take the reading on Monday the 3rd, 8th grade reading on Tuesday the 4th, and 11th graders will take the MCA math test on Thursday the 6th. For a full testing calendar click here.

Seniors – Friendly reminder that your newspaper bios are due by Friday the 24th. Also, please get a senior picture and any baby pictures to Nancy or Reta as soon as possible. Thanks!

Theater Opportunity: If you want to audition for a play please go see Lauren in Nichole’s Advisory. The play has 10 parts so anyone willing to participate please audition. You must be willing to memorize your part quickly and work with a team. auditions will be next week – we will announce the day, time and location soon.

Prom/Spring Formal – If you are thinking of attending Prom/Spring Formal please sign-up at Joan’s desk, the student council is trying to figure out if there is enough interest.

Friday, March 24, 2017 – Regular School Day 
March 27, 2017- March 31, 2017 – Spring Experience Week
Friday, April 7th – Call out to all young women interested in wood carving and bowl turning!  MNCS will be partnering with the Women’s Woodshop of Minneapolis to further explore the craft of woodwork.  Cost is $10, sign up with joan to secure your spot or online payment is available for this event. Young women at MNCS will get first dibs on this experience.  Check with Paul for more information.
Friday, April 7, 2017 – CPR for 9th Graders – Laura Boelter and Kathleen Swenson will be offering an American Heart Association CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED (automated external defibrillator) class to interested 9th graders.  If students would like to receive a course completion card (which will be valid for two years), the cost will be $8.00.  Otherwise, no charge.  Please sign up at Joan’s desk, online payment is available for this event. .  Any questions, please see Kathy.
Friday, April 7, 2017 – Robotics Tournament – Cory and Jake will be taking students to the U of M to watch the tournament and to cheer on MNCS students Gavin, Garek, Riley, or Alex. There is no charge for this event. Bring a lunch or money to purchase one. Sign up at Joan’s desk.
Friday, April 7, 2017 – Ukrainian Eggs – Ever wanted to learn how people decorate eggs so beautiful? Ukrainian Eggs dates back to the pre-Christian era. Join Nancy and Joan in making these beautifully decorated eggs. There is no charge for this event. Sign up at Joan’s desk.

Friday, April 7, 2017 – Apple Orchard Grafting – David will be taking students up MNCS very own apple orchard. There is no charge for this event and you will be back at school for lunch. Sign up at Joan’s desk.
Wednesday April 19, 2017 – “Interested in learning one of the great music colleges in the United States?  Does the idea of working closely with industry professionals light your fire? MNCS will be touring the McNally Smith College of Music.  This will be a full day experience, and you will need to bring a lunch or money to buy one.  See Paul with any questions you have.” Sign up at joan’s desk.

Thank you for your efforts to recycle in the kitchen!
We are attempting to split garbage into three categories:
Cans and Plastics — all cans and plastics numbered 1-7
**Please do not recycle plastic flatware, plastic bags, or plastic wrap**
 Food waste — please recycle all food waste.
We will not recycle paper food packaging in the kitchen.
If you have large boxes please break them down and recycle.
All other waste can go in the garbage.

The Kitchen Cupboard Cafe Menu 16-17

Tickets are for purchase at Nancy’s desk, by check, cash, or on http://www.payforit.net.  Students manage their own lunch tickets once purchased.  Lunches are $3.50 each, make checks out to MNCS.  Students need to put their lunch ticket with their name on it into the “Lunch Tickets” box by 8:30am at Nancy’s desk each morning to order lunch.
