Special Education Teacher –  Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – Neuro Behavioral Disorders 2019-2020 School Year

MN New Country School  (MNCS) (Kindergarten-12th Grade Public Charter School) – Henderson, MN is located in Sibley County and currently enrolls approximately 220 students.  MN New Country School offers experiential learning in a student led, project-based learning environment.  Learning opportunities at MNCS emphasize exploring the world through project-based learning.

The ideal candidate will join a team of special education teachers, an on-site school social worker, a special education administrative assistant to facilitate all due process paperwork, and highly involved related providers such as the school psychologist and school social worker.

The Special Education teacher needed for this position will be minimally licensed in ASD and will lead services for students with ASD across grade levels, with a focus on direct service provision at the elementary school, and targeted services at the secondary level.  This will include training for paraprofessionals assigned to students and on-going teacher training activities.

The applicant should have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

. behavior management and interventions for children with neuro-behavioral disabilities – specifically ASD
. alternative curriculum and assistive technology for students with neuro-behavioral disabilities – specifically ASD

. social skills instruction, daily and independent living skills instruction
. IEP writing and conducting evaluations

. creating schedules, providing ongoing training and managing paraprofessionals

Special Education Teacher and Lead Teacher 2019-2020 School Year

The Special Education teacher needed for this position will provide specialized instruction for intermediate grades (4-6) at the elementary school and provide instructional leadership to the rest of the special education team in research-based reading, writing and math practices across grade levels.

The Lead Teacher portion of the position will be a part of researching and implementing new curriculum and programming in areas such as transition services, social skills instruction, and executive functioning/organizational. Experience with current assistive software is also preferred.

Licensure in at least two areas is preferred (SLD EBD) and demonstrated leadership in special education.

. organizational skills

. use of assistive software and technology

The applicant should have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

. IEP writing and conducting evaluations

. creating schedules and managing paraprofessionals
